Interim SCM Excellence Consultant (Supply Chain Management) (m/w/d)
As an SCM Excellence Consultant, you will lead initiatives focused on optimizing supply chain operations to reduce global inventories, enhance supply reliability, and minimize transportation costs and lead times. Your expertise will be instrumental in identifying inefficiencies, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain to achieve excellence and maximize value for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supply Chain Analysis: Conduct comprehensive assessments of the existing supply chain network, including inventory levels, transportation routes, lead times, and supplier performance, to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Inventory Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce excess stock, and improve inventory turnover rates while ensuring product availability and service levels are maintained.
- Supplier Collaboration: Collaborate with suppliers to improve supply reliability, reduce lead times, and enhance overall supplier performance through partnership agreements, performance monitoring, and continuous communication.
- Transportation Efficiency: Evaluate transportation modes, routes, and carriers to identify opportunities to reduce transportation costs, minimize lead times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
- Demand Forecasting: Implement advanced demand forecasting techniques and tools to improve forecast accuracy, reduce demand variability, and optimize inventory planning and replenishment processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvement initiatives across the supply chain, including order processing, warehousing, and distribution, to streamline workflows and eliminate waste.
- Technology Integration: Leverage technology solutions, such as supply chain management software, IoT devices, and automation tools, to enhance visibility, traceability, and agility within the supply chain.
- Risk Management: Identify supply chain risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions, enhance resilience, and ensure business continuity in the face of unforeseen events.
- Performance Metrics: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure supply chain performance, track progress against targets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption and implementation of supply chain excellence initiatives, providing training, coaching, and support to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or related roles, with a focus on inventory optimization, transportation efficiency, and supply chain process improvement.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles, best practices, and methodologies, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver measurable results.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Change management certification (e.g., Prosci) and Lean Six Sigma certification are preferred.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
